This just in: sports bars will be playing the Super Bowl on Sunday. But you can also catch the game on the
beach, in futuristic little wine bars or in a yard with a white picket fence.
ON THE BEACH
Burgers and Pitchers at Gladstones
Gladstones will have $5 shots and $10 pitchers from noon to 3pm, then the game comes on the TVs littered
about the dining room. And if you want to go retro, just listen to it on the radios outside. The ocean
breeze remains free.
If you generally take in your football at
shiny little wine bars, stop into Pourtal. They’ve got four screens, $5 beer and wine for the duration
of the game, and probably nobody in face paint.

MINA STREETS
Endless BBQ at XIV
When you think Super Bowl, you think Michael Mina cuisine. Okay, no, you don’t. But if you drop $30 to
catch the game at XIV, you’ll get all the wings, burgers, pulled pork sandwiches and barbecue chicken you
can eat. Oh, and they’re hauling out a 10-by-15-foot screen.

SHAKE IT OFF
Grilled-Cheese Burgers and Spiked Shakes
If all you and your friends want is no fuss, a screen over the bar and a burger with
grilled-cheese sandwiches for buns, the game will be on at GO Burger, with plenty of spiked shakes for
everybody.

PICKET FENCES
Free Burgers at the Victorian
Outside the quaint old Victorian, TVs will line the white picket fences, and there’ll be plenty of free
hot dogs, burgers and slaw on the front porch. Then, after the game, head downstairs to the Basement Tavern,
where you’ll find $5 whiskey shots all night.
