In the Red
Your Guided Tour of the Redbury
You’re a complicated individual.
Sometimes you need an off-the-grid hotel room. Sometimes you need a quiet date spot. Sometimes you just need
lunch.
Good news—there’s a
funky new Hollywood
hotel called
The Redbury, now soft-open, here to handle all of the above. Ladies and gentlemen,
it’s time to take a little tour...
• Discreetly stowed up on the second floor is a quiet courtyard lounge called
The Glade,
which you should consider your off-the-radar new date spot. There will be no rope and no promoter. Stop in
after sundown, find a daybed under fig trees and Moorish lanterns, and get a bottle of red sent over from
the in-house restaurant, Cleo. Chat. Pour. Repeat.
• Come September 1,
Cleo will officially be slinging Mediterranean flatbreads and
meatball tagine for lunch and dinner. But if you’ve sprung for a room for the night, Cleo’s not your
only food option. They’ll also bring you up some sushi from Katsuya nearby. (Like the hotel, it’s owned
by SBE.)
• Each of the
57 rooms is like an apartment, with a full kitchen, washer-dryer and walls
covered with rock-and-roll posters. So basically, if you wanted to move in, you could.
• And don’t forget to bring your most prized vinyl. Each room has a
vintage record
player, and some rooms will come with records from Led Zeppelin and the Stones.
You can leave your eight-tracks at home though.
