This Too Chalet Pass
Ski Lodge in Vegas
When you think of winter, you can't help but think of...Las
Vegas.
So you'll want to visit
Company American Bistro, the ski chalet-style restaurant and fireside lounge
officially providing
yet another reason to go east for the
weekend. (The official opening is Friday, but if the second day of your
post-holiday work week has already overwhelmed you, the hush-hush soft opening
is now underway.)
As soon as you step out from that chilly desert weather and
into the latest dining venture from Pure Management Group (LAX,
Noir Bar), you'll be surrounded by a
forest of slate, silver-leafed antler chandeliers and real Aspen trees leading
into the dining room. Under the peaked timber roof, there are antique skis,
toboggan runners—and a massive wine wall. All of which is
meant to complement menu options from Adam Sobel (Restaurant Guy Savoy) like
Pork Schnitzel with Fried Egg and Brown Butter Sauce or, less modestly,
The Best Steak Tartar
You Have Ever Had.
In the lounge, you'll want to stake out one of the
high-back leather booths and banquettes lined with faux-chinchilla bolster
pillows. If
Grandma's Mint Julep doesn't
warm you up, the
Crisp Cucumber Martini packs a burn. Either way, you get to enjoy watching
the corseted bar maids muddle for you right at the stone-slab
bar.
You're feeling warmer
already.
