You’re on your way to a Westside barbecue.

You assume there will be kale. Maybe patty-shaped quinoa.

So you’ll do the right thing and save the day with sausage, charcuterie and porchetta of esteemed provenance...

By stopping at The Cannibal Beer & Butcher, a new butcher shop and sandwich counter by way of Manhattan, open as of today at Culver City’s Platform. Here it is in pictures.

Soon, they’ll open a full restaurant in a distinct space under the same roof. Until then, head east of that door into this glowing, red-subway-tiled spot to peruse its cases prior to all proximate cookouts. And to peer at the suspended meats and sausages through its refrigerated walk-in meat case.

Pick up some elaborate charcuterie, housemade jerky, wine and bottled beer. Select a few good steaks butchered on location that you can throw grill-ward. And maybe a few of their own rubs. Humans like those things.

You’ll also acquire sandwiches employing all that skilled butchery, like the pig’s head Cuban and prime rib sandwiches available daily. Plus rotating things like corned beef or porchetta sandwiches.

So basically what we’re saying is: meat.
