Seafood from a Fishing with Dynamite Vet

Good start to the week.

Samberg hooked you up with HBO Now.

Tracy Morgan’s back.

And someone’s going to tempura you a whole sea bass tomorrow night.

You owe that last honor to Canon Club, a bright new pescatarian’s paradise with a Fishing with Dynamite vet in the kitchen, soft-opening tomorrow in Beverly Hills. (Visual evidence of its existence is right here.)

The place looks sprung for some kind of nice Malibu beach party where lots of linen is worn. It’s all white-slatted walls hung in attractive impressionist landscapes over white tablecloths holding towers with king crab legs, uni and Maine lobster.

Which will all pair quite nicely with a date on the small Canon-side patio. Especially a date who’s into seafood. Because just about everything on the menu is seafood. And because you’ve come to appreciate the musings of a more open mind.

Order a round of Peruvian Old Fashioneds (rye, rhubarb bitters, sugar and lemon zest) or maybe some wine if no one can agree on whether or not rhubarb has anything to do with Peru. Then amass six kinds of oysters, followed by some mesquite-grilled octopus and a whole branzino fried tempura-style.

Great opportunity to show off your amassing skills.
