The Salt in Our Stars

Lobster Rolls, Mojitos and the Marina

Yikes.

Snowstorms. Gales. Active weather patterns.

Good thing you can just nurse a mojito on the marina and continue not knowing what those things are.

A good place for doing just that is Salt, a breezy new restaurant providing lobster rolls, cucumber mojitos and two oceanside patios, now open in Marina del Rey. (See the slideshow and the menu.)

Nice day out. But it could be even better if you headed over to the Marina del Rey Hotel for a drink with that friend who never crosses the 405.

You’ll pick one of two outdoor patios. Both are on the marina. Or you could sit in the nice, cheerful little dining room that you probably won’t choose because... see the part about the marina-side patios.

There. This is nice. Topics for discussion may include: your Moscow Mules, boat ownership, sea lions, your cucumber mojitos, your boar meatballs and lobster rolls from the Eva chef, sunsets, the surrounding fire pits, religion or politics.

All but two are fair game.
