SOUTHERN EXPOSURE

Half Off Bar Food at Café Atlántico

Mad scientist chef José Andrés is for some unknown reason lopping half off bar snacks like quinoa-crusted shrimp, Cubano sandwiches and grilled cheese with aged cheddar, mozzarella and truffle oil. And half-off mojitos. Because every comfort food deserves a little rum.

Maple Shakes and Cheese Curds at Good Stuff

The Olympics have you celebrating all things Canadian. Okay, maybe not, but the Capitol Hill burger joint is wrapped up in Canuck fever and we're going to go with it. On the north-of-the-border menu: a maple syrup-vanilla custard shake, a Montreal-style Canadian bacon cheeseburger and poutine (fries topped with cheese curds and gravy). Listening to Nickelback is still a horrible idea.

THROWING STONES

Horseshoes on Ice at the Hilton

The Olympics are there to remind you: you get precious little exposure to the majestic sport of curling. Here to scratch your itch: Curling USA, the sport's governing body, setting up four lanes of icy competition in a hotel ballroom, free all weekend for any and all comers. It'll tide you over until boccie season.

THE CURE

Red Apron Butchery Lands at Dupont Market

You'll be adding another stop to your weekly meat run, as Nathan Anda's under-the-radar Red Apron Butchery begins hawking all things cured and smoked at the Dupont Farmers' Market. Think bacon, hot dogs, bierwurst, beef jerky and smoked jowls (which are your favorite kind of jowls).

Sundays, 10am-1pm, Red Apron Butchery at the Dupont Circle Freshfarm Market, 20th Street NW

TWO BIT BLOODIES

Quarter Bloody Marys and Mimosas at Acadiana

Order Acadiana's Louisiana-influenced prix fixe Sunday brunch, and they're now throwing in unlimited Cajun Bloody Marys and mimosas for 25 cents each. They're calling it the Parking Meter Special, a dig at the city's new meter rates. We're not sure how that relates to Bloody Marys, but we're okay with this...

Sundays, 10:30am-2:30pm, Acadiana, 901 New York Ave NW, 202-408-8848, see the menu
