The Ritz Georgetown has made a bold play in the competition for your happy hour attention: free s'mores.
Beginning today at 6, the kitchen debuts its own recipe—baguette French toast instead of graham
crackers, melted French Valrhona chocolate and house-made marshmallow—next to the fire in its upscale
ski lodge of a lobby. It beats a bowl of peanuts.

Ski Swap at Ski Chalet
Upgrade your boots, trade in your bindings or just recycle that pair of glorified 2x4s from the '70s that
still hang in your closet, as the ski and snowboard retailer hosts its annual used-gear and apparel swap.
It's run by the Whitetail Ski Patrol so they can cart you away in a sled if the excitement becomes too much.

Champagne Tasting at French Embassy
The French are always going on about their terroir, and for once, we're okay with it because we're
storming their castle. This Saturday, drop by the French Embassy's La Maison Française, where they're
hosting a dozen-plus top champagne houses, pouring their potions all evening. We predict your experience
will have notes of green apple and honeysuckle, and your morning will have strong notes of tomato juice and
black pepper vodka.

Have Camera, Will Travel
Your post-midnight photography—usually involving a boudoir and the daughter of a foreign diplomat we'd
rather not mention—is not really for public consumption. But on Saturday, it's time to share. From 6pm
to 6am, shoot whatever you fancy, and the editors of Fotoweek DC will display one photo from each amateur
lensman for the rest of the weeklong festival. Who knows, this could be your chance to see Rahm Emanuel's
dog portraiture—but probably not his boudoir work.
