Colony Club Goes Alfresco

The only bad thing about Colony Club: you couldn’t take your scone/coffee/Belgian ale outside. Well, now you can, because their enclosed, covered back patio is open. And tomorrow, they’ll formally launch it with the Timber Pizza Co. truck, a DJ and drink specials. You still have to stay inside for ping-pong.

Patio now open (launch party Jul 31), Colony Club, 3118 Georgia Ave NW, 202-722-7202

DOG DAY AFTERNOON

14th and U’s Giant Sidewalk Sale

You know the old adage: even if it’s 95 degrees out, at least you can take 20% off the store at Miss Pixie’s, check out a beer garden at Studio Theatre and snack on ice cream sandwiches at Cork Market at the annual MidCity Dog Days sale. Okay, so it’s a new adage.

A Burger Battle Royal at Daikaya

Lo, about 11pm, burgers seem like a good idea. Six of them, to be exact. So it’s a good thing Daikaya’s team of chefs is engaging in a late-night burger throwdown. You can get each of their entries for five bucks, alongside booze-filled milkshakes and pony beers. Everyone’s a winner.

Sunday
Endless Barbecue and Beer. Okay.
A FINE MESS

Endless Barbecue and Beer. Okay.

At this fundraiser for Miriam’s Kitchen, you’ll get unlimited barbecue from Sloppy Mama’s and DCity Smokehouse, endless beer from DC Brau and milkshakes spiked by One Eight Distilling. Also: air-conditioning.
