José Andrés Does Vegetables

So José Andrés has a new restaurant. The only thing is it’s in a new science building on the GW campus. Oh, and it specializes in quick-serve vegetable bowls. Still, José Andrés. An Upgraded Sports Bar. Convenient.

If you’re looking for a new spot to take in some hoops tonight, you’ll be pleased to know that the Tenleytown outpost of Public Bar is now called Tenley Gastropub, and it’s got a new menu with stuff like crab cake sandwiches and polenta boards with meatballs. The TV situation remains unchanged.

The French Embassy Wants You

For one night, the epicenter of the French-speaking world is on... Reservoir Road. Yup, the French Embassy is hosting the closing party for its annual French cultural festival. Which means 30 countries rolling out their best food, drink and music. No, you don’t need to speak French.

Taking 50% Off at Mutiny

Daytime highs: getting better. Overnight lows: not so much. The bottom line here is you could still probably use cardigans, wool shirt jackets and tweed vests—exactly the kind of stuff that local men’s shop Mutiny is letting go for 50% off. Also works well for a trip to the Andes this summer.

Ongoing, Mutiny, 202-500-8680

Mondays Full of Oysters at EatsPlace

You don’t need an excuse to eat oysters. Or to go to a happy hour. But here’s one anyway: EatsPlace has a new oyster-centric happy hour. Grab a seat on either patio and get to work on a dozen giant Dragon Creek oysters for $18, plus charcuterie plates and garlic bread.
