The weekend is for immediate loading and unloading.

Thursday
Hotel Rooms by Day. Just Sayin’.
DAY TRIPPER

Hotel Rooms by Day. Just Sayin’.

This isn’t exactly like renting a hotel room by the hour. But it’s not exactly unlike it either. Here’s Hotels By Day, a site that lets you get a room from morning to midafternoon. So far it’s just the Capitol Skyline Hotel on the roster here, but they’ll be adding more. No idea how this could be useful.

Up to 70% Off Gear at Hudson Trail

Temps might hit zero tonight. Which makes this a good time to talk about parkas, gloves and other stuff that Hudson Trail is knocking up to 70% off of during its annual liquidation sale on outdoor gear. Like bikes and kayaks, too. For some other time.

A Pig Stuffed Like a Sausage at DBGB

Here’s what Daniel Boulud’s people are serving now at DBGB: a whole suckling pig for eight people, stuffed with a sausage-y mixture of pork loin, greens and chestnuts, and roasted for hours. Get ready to pair it with a bottle of whiskey and bottomless beer. Then get ready to invent a reason to do this.

Available now with 72 hours’ notice, $495 ($795 with pairings), DBGB, 931 H St NW, 202-695-7660, see the menu

A Biscuit Pop-Up at a Distillery. Huzzah.
GRAVY TRAIN

A Biscuit Pop-Up at a Distillery. Huzzah.

Not like a new local distillery needs to gild the lily in any way, but here’s One Eight Distilling inviting Mason Dixie Biscuit Co. in for an afternoon to turn out biscuits and gravy while you tour the operation and sample the wares. We suppose gravy pairs with anything.

Sunday
Casa Luca Goes Bottomless
BRUNCHING

Casa Luca Goes Bottomless

The answer: porchetta on rye. Puffed pancakes with maple gelato. Ricotta bomboloni. And bottomless gazpacho Bloody Marys. And now, the question: what do you get when Fabio Trabocchi launches brunch at Casa Luca? You also get full.
