The weekend’s bark is worse than its bite.

Zadig & Voltaire is now open at CityCenterDC, and they’ve brought all sorts of rock-and-roll-inspired stuff from Paris. Black blazers, black peacoats, black sweaters. And a couple dark-blue things.
Wine pairings: steak gets red, fish gets white, Doritos and Twix bars get... yeah we don’t know either. But Paradise Springs Winery is taking a crack at it. They’re serving a flight of all their wines, each paired with a “brand name” junk food. Maybe tannin does cut through hydrogenated oils.
There’s a new plaza in the middle of Rosslyn. This probably isn’t important to you. Except tomorrow, when it’s going to be sunny and 67 degrees, and there’ll be a beer garden there. Expect seven mostly Oktoberfest and pumpkin beers, live music and a bratwurst food truck. Of course.
Palena and its burger. Still gone, unfortunately. But its chef and pastry chef are at it again, this time at a series of pop-ups at the Bread Furst bakery. There’ll be antipasto plus three courses, either at a table for two, or a big communal table for 16. Aka the risk/reward option.
