This just in: pinball has a governing body in Baltimore and DC. This also in: they’re hosting a tournament at Lyman’s. So ice down your flipper finger and line up. If you’re not quite ready for the pros yet, show up at noon for a beginner tournament.
West Virginia. Just seems like a good place to spend part of Labor Day weekend. Nice ring to it. Also: nice whitewater. This Saturday is one of only a few days a year that they release a dam above the Potomac’s North Branch—and send you hurtling down steep whitewater. Wetsuit suggested.
Eating endless supplies of blue crabs at a beer bar. Nope, can’t do that on a workday. Here’s City Tap House, promising you exactly that, along with corn on the cob and a bottomless Bloody Mary bar. Oh, and beer.
Hanging at a speakeasy during the day. Feels a little weird. But that’s probably the point. The Gibson is throwing open its back patio at noon, with DJs all day, cookout food, blender drinks and adult popsicles. Which means they have booze in them. Not that they’re pornographic.
