Call these the most basic DC Beer Week iteration: the simple, beautiful tap takeover. First up: 11 stouts dominating the lines at the Black Squirrel. Then the next day: nearly 40 sour ales taking over the draft lines at all Pizzeria Paradiso locations. No, you won’t need a lemon.
First, the new Lyman’s on 14th is hosting a pinball tourney with DC Brau. Then next Saturday brings a Colorado-vs.-DC cornhole tourney at City Tap House, fueled by chili and beer (from Colorado) and half-smokes and beer (from DC). Go local or go home.
File these under “unsubtle.” A three-hour tour of the Potomac on a boat stocked with full lineups from Ommegang and Boulevard. Then next Friday, it’s nine local breweries, nine local chefs and a soul band taking over the Old Ebbitt’s atrium. And don’t tell us you don’t have an unsubtle file.
