Your goal of never being more than a couple blocks from tacos is that much closer to reality. District Taco is now open just south of Dupont. Which means huevos rancheros, tacos al pastor and the kind of habanero sauce that you have to request. Maybe for legal reasons.
It might be time to look for a new hat. Being that you can look for one in a whiskey bar. Downstairs at Black Whiskey, you’ll now find seven vintage/collectible dealers, with everything from leather jackets and backpacks to saddles and wagon wheels. Oh, and hats.
You may have power-lunched at Catch 15, the new raw bar on K Street. But now, they’re keeping the doors (and the raw bar) open late, with DJs and large-format drinks like punch bowls. Which can be powerful in their own way.
You know the drill by now, because it’s a good drill: every spring, Hank’s Oyster Bar throws a big oyster festival, with all-you-can-eat bivalves, BBQ oysters, fried oysters and other things without “oyster” in the title. Like beer.
District Karaoke is registering for its spring league. Which means... competitive karaoke. You’ll assemble a team of eight. You’ll rehearse some songs (solo and group). You’ll go to bars. You’ll perform. Don’t worry, there is no gong.
