Now on tap alongside your favorite beers at Jack Rose: single-barrel bourbon. The specific whiskey will
change, but for now, it’s Willett Orange Blossom Special bourbon. And coming soon: taps dispensing
barrel-aged Negronis and Manhattans. Next thing you know, they’ll be putting beer in bottles.
All that free-flowing bourbon may have you primed for some classic film noir. Good thing E Street Cinema is
kicking off its midnight movie series with The Maltese Falcon. In weeks to come, you can catch
The Hustler, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Dazed and Confused. So classic film
noir.
The biggest problem with brunch: waiting until the next morning for it. No more, as Glover Park’s
Southern-fried bar/dining room starts turning out andouille Benedict, biscuits and gravy, and steak and eggs
starting at 11pm. You can come back again in the morning.

QUICKSILVER
Racing Bikes in a Parking Garage
Like a Super Bowl for bike messengers, this daylong competition sets up an obstacle course in a parking
garage. There’ll also be a ride down the Potomac to the event from the Mall, street art and bike polo
pickup games. Tattoos not required, but encouraged.
Drinks from a dozen top mixologists. Live music. So far, not unlike a typical Saturday. Less typical: doing
it in a museum. The Corcoran is throwing open its halls for the night and bringing lots of bartenders. Whom
you can track down for preview
nights between now and the event.
UrbanDaddy is a free daily email devoted to bringing you the single thing you need to know every day about your city. It's free. The opportunity won't be around forever.
