This week, Perks is getting you back on the horse, literally, with half off beginner polo lessons at the
Potomac Polo School. Also: half off your next pair of cult selvage denim jeans, fresh from the Denim Design
Lab. It’s modern-day jean science, with a dash of old-timey alchemy. A little jean alchemy goes a long
way.
Yes, it’s that time: the time to turn your attention from outdoor grilling to outdoor spit-roasting. (It
happens earlier every year.) The British gastropub in Columbia Heights will be devoting its patio to
rotating cuts of lamb, roast beef, turkey or whatever they find fresh at the market. If you ask nicely, they
may let you give it a turn.

Pizza, Beer and Shirts in Georgetown
You like a nice, well-fitting shirt. Especially when it comes with a side of pizza and beer. Georgetown
shirtmakers Hugh & Crye are throwing a launch
party at a Georgetown gallery, with DJs, comedy from SpeakeasyDC, pizza from Coppi’s organic and copious
bottles of beer and wine. Just don’t spill any on your new shirt.
For their new brunch, Eola is serving you homemade cinnamon rolls and cheddar grits. But that’s not
important right now. What is important is their bacon flight—three varieties of heritage pork belly, all
house-cured, cold-smoked and crisped in a skillet. The eggs are an afterthought.

Sundays, 11:30am-3:30pm, $12, Eola, 2020 P St NW,

JUDGMENT DAY
Rickey Fest at The Passenger
It may have escaped your notice, but July was Rickey month, celebrating DC’s homegrown lime-y cocktail. On
Monday, the DC Craft Bartenders Guild—their lobbying power will awe you—gets some of DC’s top barkeeps
together to determine whose is the best. And now that it’s grown up, you can just call it “Rick.”
