Spit Roasts on CommonWealth’s Patio
Yes, it’s that time: the time to turn your attention from outdoor grilling to outdoor spit-roasting. (It
happens earlier every year.) The British gastropub in Columbia Heights will be devoting its patio to
rotating cuts of lamb, roast beef, turkey or whatever they find fresh at the market. If you ask nicely, they
may let you give it a turn.

Bacon Takes Flight at Eola’s New Brunch
For their new brunch, Eola is serving you homemade cinnamon rolls and cheddar grits. But that’s not
important right now. What is important is their bacon flight—three varieties of heritage pork belly, all
house-cured, cold-smoked and crisped in a skillet. The eggs are an afterthought.
