Corsets. Leather whips. Instruments of pleasure.

All gone from Georgetown.

Okay, stop mourning. They’ve been replaced with a pool table, furniture made from a 19th-century Georgia schoolhouse and taxidermy.

In this place: Onward Reserve, a new bastion of preppy Southernness that looks like the pages of Garden & Gun come to life, now open in the former Pleasure Place space on Wisconsin Avenue. (See the slideshow.)

It’s named for a hunting plantation in Mississippi, where Theodore Roosevelt famously went on a bear hunt that resulted in the invention of the teddy bear. Fun fact, that is. Also fun: the Teddy Roosevelt T-shirts you’ll find on the shelves here. And the T-shirts with Reagan in a cowboy hat. And the Reagan-Bush ’84 tank tops.

In the nonpolitical department, you might see a pink linen cummerbund, perfect-fitting swim trunks from Vilebrequin, canvas bags by Filson and steak knives made from elk horn. Quite the diverse collection, really.

And come fall, you’ll go here for coasters and cufflinks with your alma mater’s logo. While you’re at it, you can plop down in a leather wingback chair and catch an SEC game on TV while you sample some bourbon.

Just don’t ask them to turn it to the Big Ten Network.
