Custom Suits and Shirts on 14th Street

None 4 Photos Knot Standard
This has nothing to do with Halloween. Unless your costume idea is “impeccably dressed gentleman.” Then it does.

Here’s Knot Standard, a small storefront of bespokeness, now taking appointments on 14th Street.

You may recognize the name. Maybe because they’ve had a couple of pop-up locations. But now they’ve got this place that looks like a really big, really nice walk-in closet. And by “really nice,” we mean “it’s got a semicircular bar and a cool little sitting room where they’ll offer you something out of the decanter.” (See the slideshow here.)

That’s also where they keep their samples of 7,000 fabrics from Italian, French and British mills.

Pinpoint a couple that you like, and they’ll take the requisite measurements and feed them into a computer, which creates a custom digital pattern for you. And yeah, you can customize whatever ticket pockets, pocket linings and lapel widths you like—from super skinny all the way up to vintage Neil Diamond.

Then once you’ve got the suits squared away, you can turn your attention to... well, shirts and ties. But they’re also doing shoes from a cobbler in Spain, and custom-fitted cashmere sweaters.

No word on bespoke reindeer designs.
