Billy Reid Is Now in Georgetown

We know. It’s Friday.

On your mind: not much more than the nearest patio happy hour, maybe a Nats-Cubs game and the fact that summer came early.

But what should be on your mind: the clothes you’ll be wearing this summer.

Because Billy Reid’s open as of today in Georgetown, a haven of oh-so-American, summer-ready finery from the Alabama designer.

Set in a 100-year-old building, this bright and breezy multilevel space used to house Pizzeria Uno. It’s now... much nicer than that—decanters and antique photos here, leather club chairs and reclaimed billiard tables there. The wood floor you’re walking on: well, just a couple weeks ago, it was part of the set at Reid’s New York runway show.

So feel free to strut. But not before trying on stuff like cotton-cashmere polos, unlined linen blazers and seersucker striped ties (okay, maybe not all at once).

You already have a shirt: great. Then maybe turn your attention to Italian-made shoes and boots, lace-up sneakers made with K-Swiss or leather duffels handmade in Nashville.

Or just make an appointment for the upstairs made-to-measure room, where the in-house tailor will get you set up with a made-in-the-USA suit. We also have it on good authority that there’s a rare bourbon in it for you.

Which is also American made.
