Your New Base Camp for Evening Exploits
Throughout history, bars have come up with all manner of tricks and diversions to keep you happy and
drinking—free peanuts, skee-ball, guest bartending nights with Justice Breyer.
But turning their barmen into full-fledged concierges may be enough to shift your alcohol-pouring
allegiances. Well, that and a deft touch with the cocktail shaker…
Presenting
Black Fox Lounge,
a sly new haunt in Dupont
Circle North, now soft open and serving as your local bar and concierge—no membership required.
Think of Black Fox as your safe haven for drinks, snacks and music—and one that would only dare send
you out into the world armed with the best reservations a martini can buy. The owner has made it a point to
reach out to local restaurants, so if your after-work cocktail turns into a desire for dinner, he'll make a
call and fast-track a nearby table for you. Should evening turn into night—and then look like it may
turn into morning—he can scare up a hotel suite too.
Of course, you'll want to return to finish what you started—and here, your options are myriad. Take a
seat at the vast bar, backed by a three-part mural of Bath, England, rescued from the long-lamented Circle
Bar at the Watergate. Or head downstairs to the gallery, all white brick and modern art, where you can hear
live music.
It beats a basket of peanuts.
