The Nationals: probably done.

So let’s move on. To football. Hockey. Basketball.

And this place: The Prospect, a two-level ode to sports and the foods you eat and drinks you drink while watching them. It opens September 12 in the former Ulah Bistro space. (See the slideshow.)

Here’s why you might want to head here:

Its 40 TVs show sports—good sports—all the time. Yeah, sure, they’ve got NFL games on Monday night, and soon, Premier League matches for brunch. But even at off-hours, you might see a classic Marvin Hagler fight, or a World Series from the 1970s.

Remember William H. Macy in Seabiscuit? That’s the vibe. Golden age of sports. Vintage bowling pins. A wall of baseball gloves. Artistic uses of old golf clubs and hubcaps.

Cider. That’s the focus, beverage-wise. Draft cider, bottled cider, frozen cider, cider cocktails with housemade ginger beer. But there’s also plenty of regular beer.

Hog wings. They’re made from pork. They’re bone-in. They cook for 24 hours. And you can get them with seven sauces, like cognac BBQ. So eat those. Then turn to stadium-inspired stuff like braised-goat nachos, funnel cake and housemade Cracker Jack.

Those are boneless.
