Far be it from us to pass judgment, but we think it’s time you repented.

You know: sit on old wooden pews in a dark room, the only light reflecting off stained glass, and think about all the things you’ve done. Maybe even start confessing them to the most important person in the room.

The bartender.

Introducing the second incarnation of the 7 Deadly Sins cocktail menu at Church & State, premiering at a party on Tuesday night.

This is the best use for the Big 7 since Kevin Spacey put Gwyneth Paltrow’s head in a box. To begin, you’ll head upstairs to this little cocktailing house of worship on H Street and ask for salvation in the form of seven new libations, all made from American hooch (even the Belgian monks had to sit this one out).

If you’re wishing you had Mitt Romney’s tax bill, you might opt for the Envy—Blue Coat gin, maraschino liqueur, housemade grenadine and pink grapefruit. That, of course, could lead to Greed, with rye, spiced apple liqueur, Maryland hard cider and baked-apple bitters.

If you’re seeking something a bit more overtly... devilish, we’ll steer you toward Wrath, a mix of tomato vodka, white vermouth, basil syrup and a generous pour of American sriracha sauce.

Don’t forget to leave some room for lust.
