Namely, The Spa at Kingsmill, just rebuilt at an entirely new location at the resort, and now open.
You may be familiar with this place. Especially if you’re into things like professional golf courses and pools with waterslides. But it being the dead of winter and all, better to turn your attention away from that and onto the fireplace in your room.
Also: heated pools, steam rooms and hot tubs, where you can play all day. At least until they summon you into the “quiet room” looking out at the James River. Then into one of the couples rooms, where you can get rubbed down with hot and cold stones or receive lomilomi massages (based on ancient Hawaiian practices).
Oh, and the wine. They’re happy to let a waiter bring that to your treatment room. Mixed drinks, too.
After you’re done: maybe some more wine, and lunch from the spa menu.
