Just Do It

A One-Touch Button for Your Phone

None People used to get up to change the channel on the TV. You can look it up; it’s true.

And people used to also have to wake up their phones, open an app and swipe around to use the same function several times a day.

Well, until now.

Presenting the curious case of the Do Button, an app that basically sets up shortcut buttons for the things you do most often on your phone, available now.

It lives, ideally, on your home screen or in your notification center. As soon as you set it up, you’ll start to customize it with buttons to send certain emails, check in on social media or control your household gadgets.

A few dozen are already created. Like ones that:
  • Text you your exact location.
  • Set your Nest thermostat to 70 degrees (assuming you have a Nest thermostat).
  • Give you a dummy phone call to get you out of a meeting.
  • Play a song. Which is useful if you need entrance music. Because you’re Manny Pacquiao.
Or start creating your own buttons. Like ones that dim your lights, create a blog post or email the dog when you’re on your way home.

Actually, that’s silly. Dogs don’t read.
