These Five Tables = Valentine’s Success

Quick, look at the calendar. Now think hard. Yup, it’s LL Cool J’s birthday. But more importantly: it’s one month till Valentine’s Day. In other words: time to spring into action, before all the other would-be romantics out there, and reserve a table. You can worry about your date later.

Table #8, Iron Gate

Table #8, Iron Gate

You Require: Fire.
You’ll Receive: The enviable two-top opposite the big antique fireplace in the city’s most romantic new dining room—where you’ll sample the Mediterranean tasting menu and cocktails made with ouzo. Which are probably flammable, so be careful.

The Barrel Room, Paradise Springs

The Barrel Room, Paradise Springs

You Require: Privacy. And tons of wine.
You’ll Receive: A single table, set up in your own private row of barrels at this close-in winery, while they serve a four-course tasting menu paired with their wines.

The Chef’s Tables, Table

The Chef’s Tables, Table

You Require: A close-up view of all the lobster-and-foie-gras goodness.
You’ll Receive: One of two tables built into the chef’s counter, so you can watch the cooks assemble each course of your tasting menu. Giving them tips on searing is probably not appreciated.

Table, 903 N St NW, 202-588-5200

Table #108, 2 Birds 1 Stone

Table #108, 2 Birds 1 Stone

You Require: A semiprivate alcove. Where things can get a little inappropriate.
You’ll Receive: A first-come, first-served two-top affectionately known as the “make-out point.” Which means you may want to hold off on the fried garlic dumplings.

Room #924, Park Hyatt

Room #924, Park Hyatt

You Require: A whole room, rather than a table.
You’ll Receive: A corner room with views of M Street, a limestone soaking tub complete with a bath butler, a bottle of bubbly and breakfast the next day. The butler doesn’t have to stay the whole time.
