Timber Up

A Mobile Pizza Oven and a Truck

It’s a good time to be an American.

There was... well, last night.

And now there’s a pizza oven being pulled by a powder blue 1967 Chevy pickup.

Presenting Timber Pizza Company, a new mobile wood-fired pizza maker with a vintage twist, now taking bookings for private parties.

Basically, this is the 900-degree party enhancement you’ve been looking for. So invite them over to your outdoor World Cup final party. Or your next tailgate. Or have them drive their Chevy to a levee and make you pizza. Whatever you want.

When they roll up, they’ll stoke the oak-and-applewood fire in the brick oven on wheels, and start turning out their Neapolitan-by-way-of-Brooklyn pies. As many as 150 of them per hour, in fact, in varieties like the Trippy Pig (mushrooms, pancetta) and the Most Important Meal of the Day (egg, cheddar, breakfast potatoes, honey, capicola). They’ll also fire-roast meats for you if that’s your thing.

But if you can’t wait that long for new pizza, you can find them Saturday mornings at the Columbia Heights farmers’ market, and soon on Fridays at the USDA farmers’ market.

Chant with us: USDA! USDA!
