A Diner with a Chef’s Counter on 14th

August will be over in a blink. Yup, it’s already time to start planning ahead.

No, not for Congress’s return. Just for all-day breakfast on 14th Street.

And thankfully, that begins next week.

Yes, it’s almost time for Ted’s Bulletin on 14th Street, opening at 7am every day starting Monday.

If you’ve been to the Ted’s on Barracks Row, you know it’s a bit more polished than, say, the diners in Tom Waits songs. You might even recognize a few things from the other place—old movies projected on the wall, the homemade pop-tarts.

But not hushed chats between Hill staffers. Not here. This one’s bright and airy, where you’ll be on display in the huge picture windows.

So maybe avoid the windows if you’re bleary-eyed in the AM, and just stick to the wares from their big grab-and-go bakery—muffins, croissants and a rotating array of donuts.

When you come back at night, fully restored, push through the revolving door, make for the 20-odd seats at the bar and grab a White Russian milkshake with your donut. Or book the four-seat chef’s counter to watch your country fried steak and creamed corn come into being.

You insist on being present at the creation of all creamed corn.
