24 Hours of Cocktails and Breakfast

Bars. They’ve treated you so well.

Except at last call. Then it’s all bright lights and stern admonitions to take it elsewhere. And they never even give you an omelet.

Not very hospitable.

So get ready to welcome The Coupe, a 24-hour, all-purpose spot by the folks behind Tryst and Open City, where you can get your dinner, your nightcap and your breakfast all in one place.

In theory, you’ll be able to pass an entire day here from sunup to sunup. Like so:

11am: Grab a pour-over at the center coffee bar, maybe some housemade strudel, and power up your laptop amid tin ceilings, local art and antique furniture.

6:30pm: If you’re flying solo, grab a stool at the diner counter. If you’re paired up, the booths in the huge front windows are your date-night play. Either way, expect elevated diner food like buffalo frog legs and rabbit pot pie.

10:30pm: Rather than split a bottle of wine in the dark, brick bar, split a bottle of... cocktail. Like the Georgia Comforter (bourbon, smoked rosemary maple syrup) and the Bitter X (gin, Cynar, grapefruit), mixed and bottled in-house, and poured and garnished tableside.

And when Bitter X turns to bitter end, grab a table all over again and get an early start on breakfast.

You never procrastinate when it comes to eggs.
