The Weekender

A New Bar, Halloween and a Hangover Brunch

By the pricking of my thumbs, something weekend this way comes.

Thursday
A Historic Bar, Revived
GREEN DAY

A Historic Bar, Revived

A couple months back, the historic Greenville Bar & Grill took over its old spot, most recently occupied by the Londoner. And now it’s officially open with a slightly new look and a very new menu. Think rabbit pot pies and pork chops. Then think about getting a beer. Oh, happy thoughts.

THE AUDACITY

A New Brewery Is Always Good News

Here’s what you need to know about Audacity Brew House:
1. It’s making a handful of beers (pale ale, chili porter).
2. It’s got a large taproom for tasting those beers.
3. It’s got a large patio for being outside.
4. It’s in Denton.
5. Denton is north of us.

Friday
Going All Drinks-and-Dancing at Dram
DRAMIFICATIONS

Going All Drinks-and-Dancing at Dram

If you need some last-minute Halloween plans, swing by the Dram for their “Angels and Demons” party. You can expect cocktails, a DJ, some dancing, partygoers with unusually naughty interpretations of what an angel may look like... and probably one very confused guy dressed as Dan Brown.

Oct 31, The Dram, 2918 N Henderson Ave, 214-826-3726

Saturday
The Post-Halloween Brunch You Require
THE HANGOVER

The Post-Halloween Brunch You Require

It’s Saturday morning. You’re wandering the streets, still in costume, hungry and reconsidering your life choices. Yeah. You should really get to So & So’s for their hangover brunch. Find solace in chilaquiles, Bloody Marys and other nonjudgmental, brunch-related miracles.

Nov 1, 11am-4pm, So & So’s, 3309 McKinney Ave, 214-393-6473

Sunday
Día de los Muertos–ing at La Ventana
DAY OF THE TACOS

Día de los Muertos–ing at La Ventana

As part of your Halloween recovery, swing by Taqueria La Ventana for a slower-paced celebration. This time, it’s the other face-painting holiday: Día de los Muertos. There will be beer, mezcal and tacos, plus a ceremonial altar. Be generous, but not with your tacos.
