Once, there was a bar. Called the Chesterfield. For a while, it was glorious. Then: less glorious. Anyway, now it’s called Prohibition. They’ve scrapped the 100-strong cocktail menu in favor of a pared-down version. And on weekends: a DJ. In the new DJ booth. Also, burlesque. No booth for that, though.

The Oak Cliff Film Festival starts tonight. Goes all weekend. Seems like a good time. There’ll be events. There’ll be parties. There’ll probably be a bunch of independent movies and documentaries. Stands to reason. Film fest and all.
The Common Table’s doing you a big favor by turning three this Saturday. They’re celebrating with special keg tappings throughout the day (Firestone Walker Double DBA, Founders Devil Dancer). And the Whiskey Folk Ramblers hit the stage at 10. Guess the Beer Folk Ramblers were already booked. Or don’t exist.
