A Brewpub with Pork Chops and Queso

We’ve got much to discuss, so please... hold your applause until the end.

Braindead Brewing, Deep Ellum’s new beer hall and brewpub, is now open on Main Street. This is good news.

First, see the slideshow. Then go see it for yourself. Because despite the name, these guys put a lot of thought into this place. That means plenty of seating, some compelling wall art and a fine front patio, plus a bar that’s sporting 30 taps affixed to vintage fridge doors.

For now, they’re pouring a bunch of good beers from around the world. But give them a month or two, and they’ll begin rolling out the house-brewed stuff.

There’s a big communal table in the middle, should you require it. But otherwise, sit at the bar. Partly because it’s a handsome bar with hops and grain displayed under glass. But also because that’s the closest seat to the beer. So drink some beer. Also have some queso and a pork chop and a Coma Burger and... that should do it.

Unless you’re coming here late. In that case, they’ve got a late-night menu that’s all about chili cheese fries and grilled PB&Js crusted in Cap’n Crunch.

Okay, you can go ahead and clap now.
