Poolside Dinners and Cocktails in the Sun

We have bad news: summer is just around the corner.

Wait, scratch that.

We have great news: summer is just around the corner.

And it brought tequila.

Build a base tan for Salt, the new home of cabana lounging and sun-drenched cocktailing, soft-opening this Friday on Ross Ave with three nights of public parties.

Once upon a time, this was Ku De Ta. But then these guys took it over, applied a fresh coat of paint, brought in some palm trees, fashioned an adjacent indoor bar and generally spruced the place up. Don’t worry, they kept the pool.

So go ahead and swing by. Start at the blue-tiled, poolside bar, because it’s pouring margaritas and frozen mai tais and that’s all the reason you need. Then find yourself a table or cabana and busy yourself with things like sweet-chili calamari, smoked beef carpaccio and Alaskan cod with grilled pineapple-jalapeño relish.

Now, you can stop by anytime for an alfresco dinner. But to ensure you’re granted access for weekend sunbathing, you’ll want to acquire a membership. It comes with perks like cabana reservations and free parking, plus your very own laminated member’s card.

It’s like a library card, but more accepting of cannonballs.
