There are many reasons to hit the road and do some exploring this spring. For example: visiting new breweries. And wineries. And distilleries. If only there were some kind of resource for doing just that... oh, right, there is. And for three easy payments of $19.99, it can be yours. Not really. But look below.
Feel that? No? Well, that makes sense. But it’s new beer, and it’s coming very soon to McKinney. See, Tupps Brewery has taken over the historic Cotton Mill and rehabbed the space into that of a beer factory and taproom. That’s called an upgrade. You had your chance, cotton.
For creative beers like the serrano-infused Texican ale and the Shucking Stout (it’s made with actual oysters), try the recently opened Bearded Eel Craft Brewery in Fort Worth. They serve pints Thursday through Saturday in their taproom, so those are the days you should go.
You can find this newly operational happy place of vodka, gin and moonshine in the cozy confines of Denison (it’s near Oklahoma). Swing by on Fridays and Saturdays to tour the facility, sample the wares and offer constructive feedback like “This is good, but I’ll require another taste to be sure.”
The Deep Eddy guys opened a handsome new distillery and tasting room, which means you’ve got a new place to sample grapefruit and sweet tea vodkas while enjoying a relaxing Hill Country weekend or day-tripping from Austin. It’s not going to be a bad time.
And then there’s Kuhlman Cellars, the new Hill Country operation that’s turning grapes into the far more interesting wine. You can do a tasting, take a few bottles home or just sit outside with a glass and look toward the vineyard. It’s nice. Very calming. Much like wine.
