You’ve Got Ale

A New Brewery with a Newer Bar

Good game yesterday.

Hopefully you didn’t do anything foolish like bet your life savings on Seattle.

Because you’ll need a few bucks for Texas Ale Project. The newish Design District brewery has just opened a taproom, which means you can now drink on-site Thursday through Saturday. (See it here.)

You might know these guys from bars around town, where you can find a handful of their beers on draft, like the delightfully named Fire Ant Funeral (an amber) and 50 Ft Jackrabbit (an IPA). Well, now you can drink those things directly from the source. The source here being a simple taproom with a concrete bar, wooden tables and games like cribbage and Jenga.

So you’ve got a few days to figure out what cribbage is. Then swing on by. Bring some friends. Partake in the four beers they currently have on tap. Look through the glass doors toward the stainless-steel tanks and quietly raise your glass in approval.

And starting this April, they’ll begin offering tours on Saturdays. So aside from just drinking the product, you can learn how the stuff is made.

We hear they brew it.
