Valentine’s Day. We checked, and yes, it’s still happening. Now, if you’re hoping to be unattached by the 15th, just sit back. Do nothing. Maybe send an e-card. But if you’ve got a keeper (or at least a decent prospect), well, here are the five best tables in town. Take your pick.
You Require: A front-and-center seat with a full view of the action.
You’ll Receive: This chef’s table that looks onto the open kitchen, so you and your
date can supervise the cooking before partaking in some lamb duos and bourbon-glazed pork belly. Yup,
that’s what the kids are calling it these days.
You Require: Just a couple of steaks... and maybe a breathtaking panorama of the
city.
You’ll Receive: Some 22-ounce prime-cut rib eyes. And if you sit at this window two-top
(27 stories above street level): a clear look out over Downtown Dallas. Why, yes, traffic is backed up again
on 35.
You Require: An excuse for physical contact.
You’ll Receive: A little bench tucked into the back of the restaurant. It’s great for
side-by-side canoodling between courses... feeding each other oysters... sipping wine through linked arms.
All that usual nonsense you can only get away with on Valentine’s Day.
You Require: Something fancy but not too fancy, definitely French and preferably
with mussels.
You’ll Receive: A cozy bistro of exposed brick, gold-framed mirrors and walls of wine.
Plus, a menu full of shellfish. And you know what they say about eating shellfish. Or you should, anyway.
You Require: An absolute stunner of a restaurant, and the most comfortable seat in
town.
You’ll Receive: This spacious leather booth that’s really a couch, so go ahead... make
yourself at home. Summon a plate of Moroccan octopus. A couple of pork chops. Maybe a throw pillow or two.
