Two Stories’ Worth of Tequila

None 5 Photos Ocho Kitchen and Cocktails
In your next life, you come back as a two-story den of tequila.

But that won’t be for a very long time.

And honestly... you could really go for a two-story den of tequila.

So prepare to meet Ocho Kitchen and Cocktails, a bi-level oasis for Southwestern food and, you guessed it, tequila, slated to open next week in Preston Center.

This place is what happens when some serial restaurateurs hatch a plan over a bunch of reposado. They note their love for Tex-Mex cuisine and Santa Fe flavors. Mention their preferences for warm colors and polished granite. And make a pact to stock as many tequilas as there are weeks in a year. (Well, that’s how we assume it went down.)

Which means you’ve got at least 52 reasons to come here. So grab a seat along the mirror-lined wall on your left and request some New Mexican Meatloaf or a Hot Pig (that’s chipotle-and-agave-braised pork tenderloin). Then, head upstairs to bar #2. It’s here where you’ll find red walls covered in driftwood. And tequila cocktails like the Hatch Chile Smoke (tequila, lemon juice, agave and green chili powder).

But if the weather’s nice (hell, even if it’s not), step outside to the balcony. It’s got a retractable roof and it’s climate-controlled.

Sort of like a more tequila-heavy Cowboys Stadium.
