In-Table Beer Taps and Sliders. Yay.

Schoolyard Tavern got a makeover. In a nutshell, that means the dark back room: now light and airy. That typical pub menu: now more sriracha-chicken-slider- and Korean-taco-ish. Those two tables with built-in taps: now exist. Just never say “school is in session.” Never do.

It’s 11:59pm. Do you know where your taco is? Answer: yes. Because Nacional 27 has just spawned Tallboy Taco right inside its existing space. It’s got lunch counter service and seated dinner until midnight on weekends. It’s like they knew you like to eat brisket tacos right around then.

Giving Yourself the Gift of Friday Pie

Tomorrow afternoon marks the last time you’ll see Jove T.’s, that seasonal pop-up ice cream shop inside David Burke’s Primehouse, for a while. This week: Frangelico ice cream on a slice of pumpkin pie and cream-cheese-honey ice cream with pecan banana bread. As send-offs go, it’s a good one.

Where Cold Cuts Meet... Haircuts

There’s a new weekly market launching this weekend. It’s called Prime Market. Ina Pinkney will be there signing her breakfast book. Chop Shop will be there making you porchetta sandwiches. Joe the Barber will be there cutting your hair. No, really. It’s right there in his name.
