The weekend feels good to be back in its regular costume.
So, Eric Aubriot is back. Yes, that Aubriot, the two-time James Beard nominee. He’s quietly opened Revolver. Feels a lot like a neighborhood family spot, probably because it used to be Xippo. Same jet-black furniture, same airplane-propeller fans. But hold on: way different food (pâté, seaweed salad). You know what to do.
Greg Hall, the famed former Goose Island brewmaster, is now in the Michigan cider business. Interesting. He’ll fill you in on the details, while you sip French cider and apple brandy and dine on scallops and venison. Always a good idea to keep an eye on the French.
Some things you just need to see for yourself. A death-defying snowmobile stunt show in the parking lot of Wrigley Field—not necessarily one of those things. But now that you know such a thing exists—a whole other story.
