The Return of a Very Big Deal

So, Eric Aubriot is back. Yes, that Aubriot, the two-time James Beard nominee. He’s quietly opened Revolver. Feels a lot like a neighborhood family spot, probably because it used to be Xippo. Same jet-black furniture, same airplane-propeller fans. But hold on: way different food (pâté, seaweed salad). You know what to do.

Now open, Revolver, 3759 N Damen Ave (at W Grace), 773-529-9135

CIDER HOUSE RULES

Greg Hall’s Next Act

Greg Hall, the famed former Goose Island brewmaster, is now in the Michigan cider business. Interesting. He’ll fill you in on the details, while you sip French cider and apple brandy and dine on scallops and venison. Always a good idea to keep an eye on the French.

Nov 3, 6:30pm, $55, C-House, 166 E Superior St (at Saint Clair), 312-523-0923

Snowmobiling in a Wrigley Parking Lot
SNOW KIDDING

Snowmobiling in a Wrigley Parking Lot

Some things you just need to see for yourself. A death-defying snowmobile stunt show in the parking lot of Wrigley Field—not necessarily one of those things. But now that you know such a thing exists—a whole other story.

Malty. Wheaty. Hoppy. Yeasty. Sloshy.
HOP TALK

Malty. Wheaty. Hoppy. Yeasty. Sloshy.

Beer. It’s everywhere these days. It’s in your chili. It’s in your soap. Occasionally, it’s even the star of its own festival. Show up at the Aragon, they’ll hand you a glass, and then you’ll chug through more than 100 beers from local makers. Oh, and keep the glass.

Nov 5, 1-4:30pm or 6-9:30pm, $35, Aragon Ballroom, 1106 W Lawrence Ave (near N Broadway), 773-561-9500

Sunday
You vs. 1,200 Doughnuts
ANOTHER DOSE

You vs. 1,200 Doughnuts

We know. Dose Market. Again. We’re not on their payroll. (Honest.) But this time, Templeton Rye, Great Lake ’za and 1,200 doughnuts from Doughnut Vault will be there. We can’t just watch you drink your whiskey or eat your doughnuts and pizza anywhere else Sunday morning. No way.
