Frank & Oak Does Chicago

The end of summer is nigh.

But if you insist on dressing like it’s totally not nigh... we fully support your autumnal denial.

And so does Frank & Oak, a new pop-up brick-and-mortar version of the Canadian online store full of very nice things to wear, opening tomorrow in Bucktown. (Here’s what it looks like.)

It’s only the second US location for the brand, and it’s discreetly tucked around the corner from Damen on Wabansia (you’ll find it).

Everything’s pretty minimalistic in here—few mid-century chairs. A nice Navajo rug. Photos of Chicago doing its thing. Makes a solid backdrop for stocking up on anything from blazers to T-shirts to denim.

But here’s the thing: they change stock monthly. Which means you’re fully protected from the unpleasantness of seeing anything in the form of a winter coat, sweater or thermal sock until absolutely necessary.

So come here when...

You need a presentation-to-investors-for-your-new-killer-app ensemble.
An August-appropriate twill suit will be perfect.

You need something sharp yet casual for a first date.
Chinos. A ribbed-cotton henley. Blazers. They’re there.

You need some really hot barbecue sauce.
For whatever reason, they carry some of the fieriest sauce that Lillie’s Q makes.

Ribs would’ve been pushing it.
