Stage Bite
Your Backstage Pass to Schubas' New Sibling

You've been hearing things lately.

Things like "Testing, testing" and "Check, one, two, three." And something that sounds an awful lot like "Sibilance, sibilance."

It all means exactly what you think means: you are indeed about to rock. We salute you.

On Friday, Lincoln Hall, the long-awaited Lincoln Park concert venue from the folks behind indie rock temple Schubas, gets a sonic christening with a sold-out show from former Soul Coughing frontman Mike Doughty.

But first, a little lunch. That starts on Thursday.

In addition to the main stage, the onetime Three Penny movie theater now offers a small-but-dapper front tavern, which will be the obvious choice for that quick burger and some sweet potato fries before the show (though don't count on getting in for dinner unless you have a ticket).

Once inside the 500-person venue (complete with balcony), however, you'll find a second bar pouring all the 312, Shock Top and other craft brews you can handle. Then after the show, you can stumble out to munch on buffalo chicken satay and mini flatbreads late into the night.

Or until your ears stop ringing.
