Lincoln Park’s Getting a Yard House

Yard House opens Saturday in Lincoln Park. You really don’t know what to make of it at this point, but... it sounds vaguely familiar.

“Isn’t there one in the suburbs?” you ask. (Yes, in Glenview.)

“It’s a bar and restaurant,” you think. (You’re right.)

You know it’s in that new giant mall/apartment building thing sprouting up on Clybourn called NewCity. (Yes, but it probably prefers to be called a mixed-use urban development.)

The real question: is Yard House right for you and your beer-drinking needs? Let’s break it down by the numbers:

Beers on tap here: 110

Miles of stainless-steel tubing above your head running from the kegs to the taps: 5

Number of beers in bottles: 1 (Not Your Father’s Root Beer)

ABV of Not Your Father’s Root Beer: 10%

Odds your father would approve: 50:50

Number of beers from the Chicago area: 15

Tables on the patio: 12

Number of TVs on that patio: 5

Chance you’ll catch a Bears game out there soon: high

Burgers on the menu: 11

Number of ounces in their half yard of ale: 32

Obligatory number of easy Jay Cutler burns in this correspondence: 1
