Three Important Things to Know About Presidio

None 12 Photos Presidio
“Go West, young man,” someone once said.

“And bring us back some really cool drink recipes,” he continued.

Bet you didn’t know he said that last part...

It’s okay, because this place did: Presidio, a fine new establishment of cocktails and hearty American food that opens Thursday in Bucktown.

Here’s everything you need to know:

It’s in the old Bluebird space.
And you’ll appreciate what they’ve done with the joint. Namely, shortened the bar to accommodate some nice little tufted couches and low-slung tables for you to get comfortable around on your next date.

You won’t leave hungry.
You may find yourself here with a group of friends investigating the pleasures of foie gras parfaits, bone-in pork chops and burgers with sesame brioche buns. The menu flows with the seasons. So today’s mushroom polenta may be tomorrow’s spring ramp polenta. Such is the circle of polenta.

Your drinks have been vetted by the kind people of San Francisco.
They were inspired by the City by the Bay’s most heralded libations, such as the Irish coffee from Buena Vista Café as well as the famed pisco punch, which is the very foundation upon which that city was built.

Rock and roll: close second.
