Werewolves of London

Skeptical Investigation

To Drink This or Not to Drink This...

None We’re lovers. You know that. But every now and again, something comes across our desks that just seems... suspicious. Because of the tremendous material upside to all our lives if these claims pan out, we at times put ourselves in harm’s way to investigate. Albeit skeptically.

We call it: Skeptical Investigation. (Trademark pending.)

THE CLAIM
That the Werewolves of London, a new addition to the Kinmont’s cocktail menu that features pig’s blood, is actually something you’d want to drink.

THE INVESTIGATION
Our palest, most nocturnal investigator met up with Kinmont bartender Jason Brown, who was inspired to create this most unholy of libations by Warren Zevon’s timeless aria of the same name.

In it: gin, Pimm’s and coconut syrup served over crushed ice and garnished with a pineapple leaf. Right. And a half ounce of pasteurized pig’s blood.

Investigator, stalling: “Anything else I should know?”
Brown: “No, not really.”
Investigator: “F**k.”

Eyes closed, lips pursed, our brave count in training took a short sip. Then a longer sip. Then...

THE VERDICT
Tastes a little coconut-y and tropical, like something you could sip on a beach somewhere. In other words, it’s all in your head.

That blood that was once coursing through the veins of a pig is all in your head.
