A Two-Story Playground in Wrigleyville

There’s one reason you come to a bar in Wrigleyville: the sophistication.

Barring that, you’ll take a cold beer and a Cubs win.

And you’ve had to forgo one of those 69 times this year.

It’s about time you get what you came for: meet Deuce’s and the Diamond Club, an ambitious new marquee destination in Wrigleyville, soft-open during Cubs games and weekends until its September grand opening.

Imagine what a Wrigleyville bar would look like transported to River North... and then transported to Miami. Designed by the group that did places like Girl & the Goat in tandem with the guy behind Casey Moran’s, the place incorporates all the signifiers of cool: reclaimed wood from an Arizona gold mine. Industrial metal. Retractable glass walls. Drop-down screens for big games and well-placed flat-screens for the rest.

Until the full menu debuts, you’ll come for a thick cheddar burger and artisanal Belgian beer (they have 80 beers total). Or head upstairs to the Diamond Club, which offers both the velvet-tufted ambience of a boutique hotel and bottle service—ideal for office parties or just after a tough day in the bleachers.

Once patio licensing is approved, you’ll find yourself outside. Vines of hot peppers, tomatoes and basil crawl around snug cabanas, but you’ll sit around the central reflecting pool, which throws powerful water sprays into the air.

It’s the Carlos Marmol of fountains.
