Hot Pots and Dim Sum in the Gold Coast

Your life is great. You feel good. The weather’s nice. You drank from the Stanley Cup last weekend.

And yet… something’s missing. Something important. Something like a good place for Taiwanese dim sum.

Excellent news: Vora, now soft-open in the Gold Coast, is ready to fill that pork-bun-shaped hole in your heart.

Nestled in a strip of Clark known more for its auto dealerships and Dave & Buster’s franchises—hey, you’ve got to be known for something—this is a happy little surprise. It’s all mossy greens and reclaimed wood, with a bar with lightbulbs that hang down like vines. It’s just the place to have your first small-batch Japanese beer.

They’re introducing the full menu—a rollicking tour of Asian cuisines—slowly. Currently, breakfast ranges from fresh smoothies to sticky rice. While lunch and dinner range from banh mi and sushi to pad thai and tabletop hot pots—because after all, nobody boils cabbage and beef like you.

But oh, that dim sum. Nearly 40 items in all, the menu includes gua-bao (which are pork buns), meatballs and steamed shrimp. Once they start arriving, they won’t stop until you say when.

Or until you run out of money.
