David Bowie left us a note. We think it’s for you:
“Yeah, it’s me. Bowie. Sorry I can’t come sing at your house for you. But Beat Hotel has some live bands covering my stuff for three and a half hours tonight. Plus they have ribs. I can’t offer ribs.”

STACKING THE DECK

Four DJs and a Raw Bar at the ICA

The ICA’s holding a DJ round-robin. That’s a fancy way of saying that four DJs are going to make music together on a giant outdoor deck while a raw bar dispenses Island Creek oysters. And you dance. Everyone’s got to do their part.

CREEKING HAVOC

It’s an Oyster Sale. Helluva Thing.

Island Creek Oysters (yeah, those guys again, but without DJs this time) are celebrating Labor Day weekend the only way they know how: by selling you 50-count bags of oysters at 40% off and throwing in a gratis shucking knife while they’re at it. Always take the free shucking knife.

You gave summer a pretty great run. But there’s still one item left on your checklist: “consume pimento-cheese egg sandwich and rum-spiked Orange Julius on patio.” Specific. But luckily, Merrill & Co. is inaugurating a new brunch this weekend where you can do just that. The world likes you.

Bread and Salt, meet everyone. Everyone, meet Bread and Salt—the latest pop-up to make a home at Wink & Nod’s kitchen. In addition to regular dinner service nightly, every Monday they’ll be holding a “South End Night Market” complete with Bengali fried fish and fernet bon bons. Like fernet, but bon-bon-ier.
