You Desire New Glasses. Here They Are.

Here are some fine-looking glasses from Japan.

You may need a pair of Archibald Optics, a new-to-the-American-Internet line of generally smashing glasses and sunglasses that are designed in Britain, made in Japan and mailed to your face, available online now.

There’s a real global village situation going on here. British designers conceive each pair, which would explain why a bunch are named after famous cricket players (you’ve heard of Curtly Ambrose, right?).

Then the baton gets passed to Japan, where craftsmen with a collective 250 years of experience make them by hand from Japanese titanium. Every finished pair is tested by a senior worker referred to only as “Sennmu.” Sounds like a pretty serious guy.

Your part in all this: pick something to try on. Maybe it’s the Buddy Holly–inspired, tortoiseshell Ferguson. Perhaps the suspiciously John Lennon–like Milfords (those’ll both be back in stock later this month). Or a McQueen-esque pair of Ayrton shades.

They’ll ship you all three for your trying-on pleasure. Make some smart-person faces in the mirror. Experiment with eyebrow raises. Then send the whole case back and buy a fresh pair of whatever worked online.

You can put your eyebrows down now.
