Salt House Inn

Get Out of Dodge

Meet the Salt House Inn. It’s Nice.

Sometimes, Mondays can be tough.

Right.

This should help...

Look to the immediate future for the Salt House Inn, a new P-town sleepery with lobster rolls around every corner, bedside claw-foot tubs and enough coastal New England charm to render a weekend date helpless, now open on Cape Cod.

This is exactly what you’d expect from a classic, summer-only inn on the Cape. It was designed by two seasoned hotel vets (one worked for Ian Schrager, the other was a designer for Morgans Hotel Group), so it’s... nice. Beautiful, even. It’s filled with antiques from up and down the coast. The walls are stark white. The air whispers things like “Just do your thing, friend. I’m on your side.” (Creepy air is the best air.)

If you’re on a solo mission, a standard room should prove more than adequate. Partly because the beach is only 1,000 feet away, but mostly because the beach is only 1,000 feet away.

But that’s not going to happen, is it. No. You’re bringing a date. You’re renting “The Loft” with its dangling filament bulbs and vaulted ceilings and claw-foot tub right next to your custom king bed.

It’s so you can point and go, “I have a tub.”
