Five New Ways to Get Some Pumpkin in You

You weren’t going to give in this year. You were going to stay strong. But alas, the time has come to surrender to your innermost pumpkin desires. Or at least eat a whoopie pie made out of one. Witness: the season’s finest examples of edible pumpkin-ism.

PUMPKIN LEVEL: 1

Curry-Caramel Popcorn at Lulu’s Allston

You Require: Just a whisper of pumpkin. Preferably in pre-pumpkin form.
You’ll Receive: A bucket of curry-and-caramel-coated popcorn with a not-ungenerous sprinkling of pumpkin seeds applied throughout. It probably won’t turn into a pumpkin patch.

PUMPKIN LEVEL: 2

Roasted-Pumpkin Soup at Bondir Concord

You Require: Classic pumpkin soup. Couple surprises wouldn’t hurt.
You’ll Receive: This roasted number complete with a big spiced marshmallow and some bee pollen. You had a good run, honey.

PUMPKIN LEVEL: 3

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies at Tap Trailhouse

You Require: A pumpkin-centric dessert. But definitely not pie. Or ice cream. Cupcakes are entirely out of the question.
You’ll Receive: A pumpkin whoopie pie, filled with marshmallow fluff cinnamon buttercream and finished with Moxie-ginger syrup. Yep. They went full Maine.

PUMPKIN LEVEL: 4

Raw-Pumpkin Salad at Alden & Harlow

You Require: Raw pumpkin. Maybe spaghetti. A real dilemma here.
You’ll Receive: A plate of raw sugar pumpkin shaved into spaghetti-esque strands with brown butter, fried almonds and Thai chilies. Compromise never tasted so good.

PUMPKIN LEVEL: 5

Pumpkin Spinach Dip at Trina’s

You Require: A pumpkin stuffed into another, smaller pumpkin. Cheese. Also cheese.
You’ll Receive: A roasted miniature pumpkin that’s been stuffed with the insides of a larger pumpkin, Greek yogurt, spinach, and mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Oh, and housemade tortilla chips on the side. Or else it’s all for nothing.
